I love to make little oatmeal puffs for my girlfriends who have recently had a baby. These are great to soothe new baby skin and help reduce eczema itch. You can always grind the oatmeal and add directly to the bath, but I find adding organic steel cut oats into cheese cloth keeps mess to a minimum. I usually cut an extra strip of cheese cloth to tie up the top of the puff instead of a rubber band.

Don't forget to squeeze the oats to help distribute. Besides, a puffball of oats is fun to squeeze like a stress ball once it is in water. You can watch the water turn opaque.

When the baby turns 3 months I add a drop or two of lavender oil on to the puff.

Relaxing and soothing!

Detox Bath

This recipe is from a Holistic Mom Group. I finally splurged on the pricey essential oil Helichrysum (which I call Hella-Christ- that's-a-sum!) I needed to make this. I always have Frankincense because it is a miracle oil in so many ways, but no small fee either.

1/2 Cup Epsom Salt

Let the clay and epsom salt dissolve in bath then add drops of Essential Oils. As an option, I put the drops of oil in the Clear Vegetable Capsules only if I want to make ahead of time or to give as a gift. The capsule dissolves in water and the oils are then distributed.

Use a strainer to cover tub drain. Soak for 20-30 minutes. Be careful not to get in eyes.

You can also half this recipe for a foot soak.

Use only high quality essential oils like Young Living. You have to be a member to order these oils, but I am always willing to order through my membership, if needed. Young Living.

I swear by my essential oils and how they work on everything from illness to acne. Recently I worked with a friend of a friend to help make a blend to help clear acne and scarring. This was the first time I worked with someone I had never met. She sent pics and told me about herself and I sent her some blends, lotion and my favorite home made shower melts.

Here are her pics of her progress. I am so happy she is happy!
